All debts known to me that are collectable have been paid. One item not heretofore mentioned in this regard viz. Claim due by J. W. PIERCE of Greenville was placed in the hands of Simmonds (?) attorney at Law at Greenville for collection who afterwards died. I then turned the matter over to Mathews and Heylow (?) attorneys who have so far failed to realize any thing.

Several of the heirs had received advances during the lifetime of the deceased for which they executed their promissory notes and which I have heretofore treated as assets in my hands for collections and distribution but I have been informed by said heirs, and the will I think confirms their statement that these promissory notes were taken from them by deceased merely as evidence of the amount specified in each and were intended as donations and that the special bequests in the will to heirs not so circumstanced together with donations of which I have had no evidence handed over to me, are in lieu (?) and are an equalization of the advances set forth in said promissory notes, and it was not the intention of Deceased that the said notes should be brought into hotch potach

and this view I have adopted in this report and ask that the same be confirmed. There are no more debts to pay off except cost of Court and expenses incident to approval of this report. The following are parties entitled to distribution.
